摘要

For the control of solar glare in office buildings, double glazing with a plastic solar control film stuckrnto the inner surface is commonly used. To predict accurately the effect of such a glazing on lighting and energyrnneeds in the building it is necessary to predict its optical and thermal performance as a function of angle of incidencernof the solar radiation. Measurements are reported of the luminous and solar transmittance and of the total solarrnenergy transmittance of one such glazing. The results are compared with the prediction of a model that calculates thernproperties of the glazing unit, using as input the optical properties at normal incidence of the component elementsrn(glass and film). The results can be used as input to building energy and daylighting simulations. Such a modelrnallows the prediction of th e properties of similar glazing wit h other films, without th e need for extensivernmeasurement on each case.
