The 3D Motion Control of A Part on A Horizontally-Vibrating Plate

This paper discusses the 3D motion control of arnpart on a horizontally vibrating plate. The 3Drnmotion includes the part's translation in x,rntranslation in y, and rotation about z. When a flatrnplate makes horizontal and/or rotational vibrations,rna part placed on the plat will have position and/orrnorientation change due to the friction between therntwo contact surfaces. By adjusting the ways inrnwhich the plate vibrates, the position andrnorientation of the part can be controlled.
