摘要

The objective of this study is to demonstrate that tubular reactors can be used to generate high solids content latexes via miniemulsion polymerisation, and that it is possible to obtain good control over the size and the number of particles in the reactor. This is demonstrated for the miniemulsion polymerisation of styrene. Reactions at moderate and high solids content were carried out in batch and tubular reactors, and it is shown that very similar products can be obtained in both, and that it is straightforward to extrapolation batch experiments to continuous reactors.
