IMPROVING HORIZONTAL DIRECT CHILL CASTING

摘要

This paper outlines some of the operating issues encountered in the start up and early production period with two Horizontal Direct Chill casting machines at the Dubai aluminium smelter in the United Arab Emirates. The article then goes on to discuss the problems in some detail and describes some of the solutions and gives operating results arising from the modifications made to the machines.
