A high-temperature high-pressure continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) system has been set up and utilized for solution polymerization of olefin monomers with homogeneous metallocene catalysts. This presentation summarizes the results of a series of experimental investigations on ethylene (co)polymerization. Our emphases are on the formation of long-chain branches with the constrained geometry metallocene system, and the effects of long chain branching on the rheological properties of polyethylene.
