In this paper, we propose a modified cubicrnconvolution interpolation for the enlargement orrnreduction of digital images using a pixel differencernvalue. The proposed method has a low complexity: thernnumber of multiplier of weighted value to calculaternone pixel of a scaled image has seven less than that ofrncubic convolution interpolation has sixteen. We usernthe linear function of the cubic convolution and therndifference pixel value for selecting interpolationrnmethods. The proposed method is compared with thernconventional one for the computational complexityrnand the image quality. The simulation results showrnthat the proposed method has less computationalrncomplexity than one of the cubic convolutionrninterpolation.
