Catalytic activities of Re-Ni/CeO2 bimetallic catalysts for water gas shift reaction

Introduction This research focuses on the developing of the catalyst that will enhance the water gas shift (WGS) reaction. The Ni/CeO2 catalyst was modified by addition of Re to form Re-Ni/CeO2 bimetallic catalyst and higher activity of Re-Ni/CeO2 bimetallic catalyst was observed. The role of Re in enhancing the WGS activity are of interest and the catalyst was studied by X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) technique.
