摘要

The human-machine interface (HMI) design plays very important role in the safety of a nuclear power plant. In this paper, we addressed the problem of current Human-Machine Interface system in the Main Control Rooms of Nuclear Power Plants and proposed a new method for the Human-Machine Interface design. According to human factor engineering, the proposed HMI includes large display panels which present the plant status and alarm information, computer-based work stations for control and protection functions. Due to the slow response from human brain to action, some operators' manipulation maybe incorrect or delay through control console in facing to urgency, we proposed 'Sound Driver' idea in design of Human-Machine Interface system. As a result, the operators' workload is reduced.
