We present the results of researches aimed at the development of a cast alloy in which boron compounds, in contrast to traditional carbide phases, are used as reinforcing constituents. The information is given on the effect of the amount of boron added into the melt on the alloy structure and properties such as castability, hardness, microhardness, wear resistance and impact strength.
