A field expeiment was conducted in veritisol on cane (1996-97 and 1997-98) to study the response of cane yield attributes and sugar to organics, inorganics and their combination. Treatments consisted of trash treated with urea and tellutolytic microbes, Farmyard manure, vermicompost, bhumilabh, in situ green manuring as intercrop and chemical fertilizers viz., 100, 50 and zero per cent RDF. Data over 2 years produced lower cane yields due to organics alone as compared to 100 per cent RDF. Bhumilabh at 10 t ha~(-1) showed higher cane yield among all organics and also its aplication with 50 per cent RDF produced highest cane yield. In situ green manuring plus RDF followed this. All organics in conjunction with chemical fertilizers increased cane and sugar yield. The increasee in cane yield was mainly attribute to the increase in single cane weight and NMC
