Based on the operation records, the all volatile treatment (AVT), combined water treatment (CWT) and Phosphate Treatment methods, which are used to treat the boiler water in the large scale fossil-fueled power units, are analyzed. Both advantages and disadvantages are evaluated. The proper use of any of the technologies could satisfy the anticorrosion and antiscaling requirements of the units. It is emphasized that CWT is the best solution to the high scaling rate of the once-through boiler.
