The 5th Jordanian IIR conference on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is the fifth of its kind in Jordan since it was first convened in 1988 and is designed to address the various aspects of the presently active Refrigeration and Air Conditioning works in the country and the region. It aims at providing a forum for scientific exchange among scholars and professionals and consequently identify emerging trends, opportunities and challenges in HVAC & R engineering. The themes were actually grouped to address refrigeration and air conditioning environmental issues, including new and alternative refrigerants and cycles assisted with solar energy. A special session was arranged for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry to exhibit the latest in field. Another activity was focused on site visits to special projects such as a district cooling project for a residential complex named Ayla,rnand on a solar cooling project for the guest house of the ancient city of Petra.
