摘要

With a dramatic growth in wavelet theory researching in these years, the application of wavelet-based digital image compression has drawn much attention . The essence of Wavelet transform is multiresolution analysis signal, and it is very suitable for logarithmic character in frequency of the vision system .At the same time ,it also has the advantages of the traditional transform coding to eliminate the statistical redundancy, so it can get a higher compression ratio and fidelity. The ADV611 which is a chip designed by Analog Devices, using wavelet as the kernel algorithm, it can support visually loss-less to 7500:1 real time compression /decompression of CCIR-601 digital video at very high image quality levels. In this thesis, we mainly talk about the real time motion image compression system which is based on ADV611.
