摘要

The (RC) frame damage mechanism under dynamic loads such as earthquake is investigated. A computer program and method with nonlinear dynamic damage element, the component damage rule, and automatic identification of frame's dynamic collapse are developed. Through simulating and testing results, we have found important effects of the plastic hinges on collapse of the frame. In presented example, the degree of the frame dynamic damage, instantaneous dynamic characters, the number and the location of the plastic hinges are revealed. Therefore, the plastic damage, unstable dynamic collapse process and damage mechanism of RC building is uncovered.
