ANALYZING ATOMIC BROADCAST IN TTCAN NETWORKS

TTCAN networks are considered as being suitable for safety-critical systems because of the deterministic communication they provide. However, we show that inconsistent reception of messages are very likely to occur in TTCAN networks. Despite of the high probability of such inconsistency scenarios, they have not been addressed by the TTCAN specification. Therefore, it must be studied if the solutions which solve these inconsistency scenarios in CAN networks can be also applied to TTCAN networks. A first analysis shows that many problems arise when trying to integrate such solutions with the TTCAN protocol.
