摘要

The Brazilian Interconnected System (SIN) is a continental-sized transmission system currently responsible for supplying 473.393GWh per year to the vast majority of the country's territory. Brazil faces a triple challenge ahead: the need to continuously supply its energy consumption growth rate, with low carbon power sources, and the capability of expanding its transmission system to accommodate all that required additional generation capacity. This paper proposes a riskbased approach to determine the injection capacity of the transmission system in order to allow a superior level of solar and wind penetration leveraging on their complementary nature.
