摘要

In the Low Earth Orbit, many arcs occur on substrate of solar array panel due to plasma interaction. We used solar array coupon with back surface made of CFRP (Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastics) in an experiment. Because the CFRP substrate had many triple junctions, primary arcs occurred frequently. If the cable has cracks, a primary arc near the cracks led to permanent sustained arc between the cable and the substrate. The experiment was carried out far 7 types of cracks. We calculated distance between the nearest crack and sustained arc site. This paper reports the experimental results.
