Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) uses information technology as an important tool, for increasing efficiency in business process, strengthening mission assurance and advancing IT from aerospace arena. To support mission assurance, JAXA has been developing technical information management systems with digitizing technical information from paper documents since 2000 to accelerate technical knowledge sharing and there are the anomaly information database, the Project Information Management Systems (PIMSs) and the Digital Archive system (DARC) in operation as technical information systems. Anomaly information database has been developed to archive and provide anomaly information for high reliability assurance by mission assurance department. Those technical information systems are very valuable for knowledge sharing among ongoing aerospace projects in JAXA. However, since those systems are developed individually and there are no interoperable functions nor single portal site to access them, users have to walk around to find any information of needed. In addition, same technical information is often archived more than two systems. It is also necessary to exchange technical information among systems and to develop interface mechanism among them since there are no standard interface of metadata and data. Therefore, it is necessary to establish interoperable environment to share technical information and database more efficiently and user friendly. This paper describes the overview of JAXA's technical information systems and the plan of development of interoperable environment.
