Research on Water-Resistant Performance of Fiber Ribbons

摘要

In order to study the water-resistant performance of the fiber ribbons, a water-soaking test needs to be designed and carried out. In this paper, the procedures of the test are described in detail and the test results for fiber ribbons with different types of matrices are analyzed. The results indicate that the quality of the matrix has great influence on the water-resistant performance of the fiber ribbons. Therefore, high-quality matrices should be selected during the fiber ribbon production in order to guarantee the long-term steady operation of the fiber ribbon cables.
