Preferably dry-type electrostatic dust collectors are employed for dedusting iron-ore sinter plant off-gases. Despite various efforts for further development of this method, there are process constraints which make it impossible in most cases to comply with the clean gas dust load limit of 50 mg/m~3 (NTP). It will be demonstrated that it is now possible to clearly underrun this limit applying bag-filter technology. Processes suitable for this technology will be presented with reference to off-gas desulfurization. A report on the new process option of emission optimized sintering (EOS (R)) process will be given which allows the off-gas volumes to be substantially reduced by recirculating the gas needed for sintering.
