SPENT FUEL TRANSPORTATION WITH THE TN-MTR PACKAGING

The first shipments using the new TN/MTR cask have been successfully performed. Our goal is to complete the entire pending package approval extension and validation in the coming months. For the back end cycle of research reactors and laboratories, the TN/MTR allows to ship large quantities of irradiated MTR elements. TRANSNUCLEAIRE is designing other packagings for other purposes (small quantities of MTR pieces of full length of irradiated pins, etc... from power reactor fuel elements) in order to provide a complete and modern cask fleet and the corresponding service to research reactor fuel cycle.
