This paper describes two forced vibration tests performed at an existing 9-story RC building before and after its repair work. Outline of the repair work is also described. The system identification analyses are performed for evaluating the damage before the reinforcement and also for evaluating the reinforcement effect due to the repair work. The damage evaluation "is done by comparing the vibration characteristics based on the structural model which explain well those after the completion. The remaining stiffness coefficients were estimated for each portion of the structural elements. It is found that these coefficients are consistent with the inspected damage distribution. The effect of the seismic reinforcement is discussed using the test results after the repair work using the same technique. It is confirmed that the remaining stiffness coefficients increased at the reinforced portion of the building.
