摘要

The objective of this paper is to perform design optimization of large-scale space frames with inelastic behavior under seismic loading conditions. In order to estimate the dynamic loads a number of accelerograms is produced from the design response spectrum of the region. These accelerograms constitute the multiple loading conditions under which the structures are optimally designed. The solution of the optimization problem is performed using combinatorial algorithms based on evolution strategies. The results obtained for a characteristic test problem indicate the efficiency of the proposed optimization procedure in dealing with realistic structural problems.
