THE KEY TO LEAN LOGISTICS: INFORMATION FLOW

The significance of lean logistics and effective supply chain management has grown over recent years. A key part of lean logistics is information flow. The worldwide web emerges as a powerful platform for distributing information and supporting interaction within collaborative groups. It is necessary and possible to set up a new Supply Chain Information Integration System (SCIIS) using the technology of Internet and Intranet fully. In this paper, we propose a framework of such SCII system design. The ultimate goal is to synchronize all parts and participants in the supply chain through a web-enabled and integrated environment.
