Withe the development of the modern economy and industry competition, it is a developing trend for many manufacturers by multi-specification and small-batch production. But it is a challenge to statistical process control (SPC), because traditional SPC is used in large batch production. The problems and trouble of SPC used in multi-specification and small-batch production have been sutudied since 1950's, and lots of methods are proposed. But none of the methods can resolve all problems. On the other hand, the basic ideal of all those methods is how to get and use more quality informaiton about process. Therefore, the quality information about process is very important for SPC in this application. This article discusses a computer aided quality information system, which supports using SPC in the multi-specification and small batch production.
