The enterprise modeling method and tool in dispersed network production system

摘要

The networking technologies are revolutionizing the manufacturing industry. Many new models of manufacturing collaboration are emerging. The DNPS (Dispersed Network Production System) is one of them. In a DNPS, different enterprises located in different places can jointly design, develop, produce and sell products through the Internet. The DNPS has an important significance to the enterprises of Hong Kong and the mainland of China by sharing the resources that are complimentary to each other. Recently Hong Kong is launching a cyberport. A digital factory project is also launched by the department of manufacturing engineering of the Hong Kong University with the support of the Microsoft. The study of applications, tools, and models of a DNPS is urgently needed.
