Trial Production of 45MnCrMo Steel Slabs for Petrolem Tube Steel by Means of Converter Plus Continuous Casting Process

This paper introduces the production process for the 45MnCrMo steel for the petroleum tube bloom by means of converter + Lf + RH + continuous casting + hot rolling process. The product size is φ200, and its standard compositions are (%: 0.43-0.48C;0.15-0.35Si;0.95-1.15Mn;0.95-1.15Cr;0.20-0.25Mo). With process control, the 45MnCrMo steel produced by converter has high purity and low residues and low air content, fully meets the needs of the tube bloom for the petroleum tube. The process of converter + Lf + RH + continuous casting + rolling mill is satisfied for the production of any other special steel with high purity request.
