摘要

No efficient equipment is so far available for the boring of spindle holes of locomotive engines. This article makes a finite element analysis on the boring bar of combination boring-machine designed particularly for processing spindle holes of locomotive engines by using I-DEAS Master Series 5.0 software. Comparative analyses on vibration modes of the boring bar with floating support and vibration modes of the boring bar without floating support prove that, when floating support is fixed onto a boring bar, the deflection of the boring bar satisfies the requirement of the boring-machine. The study in this sense is of great significance to the design of longer boring bars and their performance analyses.
