MEASUREMENTS OF A NONLINEAR DISTORTION IN A FOCUSED SOUND FIELD

Experimental and numerical investigation of the field of focused circular piston are carried out. The on axis distribution of fundamental and higher harmonic components of the radiatingwave as well as the distribution of those components at chosen planes perpendicular to the beam axis are traced. Measurements of harmonic generation are compared with numerical calculations based on the nonlinear parabolic wave equation.
