EFFECTIVE TENSION LEVELLING PROCESSES FOR STEEL STRIPS

Shape correction abilities for two types of tension levellers were investigated, where a multi-roll tension leveller showed more efficient ability, even if the applied tension or the elongation is not large. It indicates that the muti-roll type has an advantage for the shape correction of heavy gauge strips with high strengths. Also, the reason for the difference can be explained by the constraint effect on the strip by a large number of levelling rolls, which makes the tension and compression distribution across the strip generated more efficiently.
