5%CrMoV. back up rolls offer improved performance in terms of their wear, fracture toughness and fatigue characteristics. These enhanced properties have been achieved through a development of the steel chemistry, careful control of the manufacturing process and plant upgrade to meet the tighter processing parameters. These performance improvements have consequently resulted in back up rolls which last longer, are more resistant to mill incidents and require less dressing between campaigns, all of which benefit the end user.
