COUNTRY REPORT FROM MALAYSIA- STATUS OF HRD IN NUCLEAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

For Malaysia, the HRD scenario to secure safety in RI and research reactor application is under control and measures that have been taken seem to be quite adequate. Improvements and new measures may need to be taken from time to time to address emerging issues. Formulation of HRD strategy is an on-going process. It is nationwide exercise that involves the central authorities and participation of representative from the 4 areas ― medical, industry. The HRD scenario for young generation is also quite satisfactory and we need to continue and expand the promotional activities. One area that we feel needs to be looked into is the procedure for exchange and mutual support and we look forward with confidence that this will soon be resolved.
