摘要

Selection of suitable system configurations, adoption of good regenerator materials and development of better magnet configurations, may make magnetic refrigeration systems a real alternative to conventional refrigerators. This paper presents the activities in magnetic refrigeration at Ris? DTU. An apparatus test system was constructed to enable the design and construction the prototype optimally. Particular attention is paid to the systems side of the technology. Nevertheless, our effort on the materials side and in particularly in the processing of materials to the desired shape for use in an active regenerator is also presented briefly.
