In this, paper Model Based SIMC is designed for FOPDT system. Based on the experimental model of the process, the various tuning rules have been compared in order to minimize the integral absolute error (IAE) with a constraint on the maximum sensitivity. To analyze the performance of the system, the model based Z-N tuning method and model based improved IMC tuning method is compared with the model-based SIMC PI tuning method and the result is reported using MATLAB simulation for better understanding. From performance parameter and performance criteria as compared to other existing model-based method, the model based SIMC PI gives the better result. To track the set point of the system, the disturbance is applied and assessment is done using controller performance with achieved performance.
