In the experiment of connection between steel beam and concrete wall, buried dumb-bell fibre bragg grating (FBG) sensors and resistance strain gauges were located at the same measuring points in the concrete wall. Analysis results showed that the buried dumb-bell FBG sensors have the merits of using conveniently; they have better service performance than the strain sensors. So the buried dumb-bell FBG sensors can be used in structure experiments. But there are some problems, for example, their Young's modulus cannot match with the Young's modulus of reinforced concrete; multi-directional measuring of strain cannot be realized. These problems must be resolved in the further research immediately.
