Applicability of Ethanol/bentonite Slurry for Seepage Barriers

摘要

A high potential of ethanol/bentonite slurry for seepage barriers was reported based on the following test results; (1) using 60% ethanol, 625 kg/m~3 bentonite in a slurry condition can be transported more than 200m using normal grouting pump, (2) the ethanol/bentonite slurry could smoothly fill up the void space. The slurry shows an enough imperm eability of k = 4 x 10~(-10)(cm/s).
