QUALITY DIAGNOSIS IN COMPLEX PROCESSES WITH QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT

The reasons influencing process quality are usually complexity. As the indetermination of roles between problem and cause, and their complex nonlinear relationship, many difficulties is appear for us to diagnose process quality and to determine relevant improvement measures. The paper employs partly the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to treat with correlativity between issue and process, process and systemic factor, systemic factor and particular causation. Through the transformation of correlation matrix layer upon layer, the particular causation influencing output quality will be diagnosed and key measure will be determined subsequently. Case studies show the method is effectual. It is helpful for decision-making in quality improvement.
