EVALUATION OF POWER TRANSFER CAPABILITY IN KEPCO’s LONG-TERM TRANSMISSION NETWORK PLANNING

The PSTC (Power System Transfer Capability)rnmethodology has been developed for application to thernlong-term power transmission network plan. Itsrnobjective is to support the planner ’s decision making inrnrelation to master expansion plans. The methodologyrnutilizes new indices whose trend on the planningrnhorizon indicates whether the plan is appropriate whilernkeeping the harmony of transfer capability andrneconomics. We incorporate the developed indices inrnKEPCO ’s long-term system plan. The propriety of thernlong-term plan is investigated by comparing the trend ofrnthe indices to the planner ’s desired trend. KEPCO'srnlong-term plan that covers the range of 1999-2007 willrnbe investigated.
