摘要

Impact dampers in various forms are used to control the response of vibratory systemsrnsubjected to either forced or self-excitations. In this paper the performance of an impactrndamper for controlling the vibration of a van der Pol oscillator is investigated using thernincremental harmonic balance (IHB) method. A numerical method has been used in orderrnto comparison with the analytical results. At the final stage the effect of the coefficient ofrnrestitution in reducing the amplitude of vibration is studied.
