On-line modelling in the petroleum industry: Successful applications and future perspectives

摘要

The on-line use of a first-principles dynamic model of a hydrocarbon pipeline system is described. This system has been successfully implemented in an industrial plant and provides a wide range of practical information to the plant operators. Such systems, where the plant model is relatively simple, but still non-trivial, provide a valuable basis for developing more ambitious on-line systems for more complicated processing units.
