Reinforced plastics with aramid, carbon and glass fibre have been recognized asrnhigh performance composites and found applications in aerospace, automotive,rnsports and construction. However, there is a considerable change in reinforcementrnfrom traditional fibres in to natural fibres due to their environmental advantages,rncost effectiveness and comparative performance. Natural fibre reinforcementrnexhibits drawbacks such as poor dimensional stability and sometimes inferiorrnmoisture resistance. Hybridization of reinforcement is one of the accepted methodsrnto overcome these issues and hence reported in the present article. A novel hybridrncomposite was fabricated using Poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT)/rnPoly(butylene succinate) (PBS) blend matrix reinforced with hybrid soy stalk/glassrnfibres by melt processing technique. Thermal, mechanical, dynamic mechanical andrnmicroscopic properties were investigated to identify the effect of hybridrnreinforcement with PTT/PBS blend.
