摘要

Local dry welding is an important water welding method with special advantages for good flexibility. To analyze gas shielding stability in the small compacted cup, the commercial CFD software FLUENT was applied to compare the speed contour images and pressure contour images of three different inflation modes. The cup with buffer on the top having the best shielding performance were selected to carry out underwater cladding tests. The ANALYSATOR HANNOVER is used to evaluate effect of gas composition on cladding process of 304 stainless steel in shallow water operation. Gas shielding tests of different compositions indicates that 02% can obviously increase cladding process stability and improve weld shape.
