摘要

We have developed a two-dimensional model of a reciprocating Active Magnetic Regeneratorrn(AMR) with a regenerator made of parallel plates arranged in a stack configuration. The timedependent,rntwo-dimensional model solves the Navier-Stokes equations for the heat transfer fluidrnand the coupled heat transfer equations for the regenerator and the fluid. The model isrnimplemented using the Finite Element Method. The model can be used to study both transientrnand steady-state phenomena in the AMR for any ratio of regenerator to fluid heat capacity.rnResults on the AMR performance for different design choices and operating parameters arernpresented and the implications for optimal AMR operation are discussed.
