High nickel chrome carburizing bearing steel (Such as 20Cr2Ni4) is used for larger mining, metallurgy, trains, cars and windmill bearing steel.But because of containing more precious metal of nickel and chrome, the price is expensive, and the manufacturing cost is high for necessary carburizing.So in recent years, specialists are in the search for new material to replace it in bearing industry.In this paper, it system heat treatment technological test and mechanical properties test on the material of G8SiMnMoVRE, and compared with high carbon chromium bearing steel.Experimental results show that the impact toughness of G8SiMnMoVRE is better than carburizing bearing steel, which higher than 3 times.Effective wall thickness is greater than 70 mm.Tensile strength is higher than carburizing steel and carbon chromium bearing steel.G8SiMnMoVRE is ideal steel to replacing high nickel chromium steel and carburizing bearing steel.
