Local surface melting of nodular cast iron

摘要

The paper deals with the effect of laser surface treatment of nodular cast iron on the structural changes of surface and subsurface layers of the specimens.The main aim of this research work was to identify the technical parameters of treatments resulting in local melting of the surface.The effects of the treatments were evaluated by scanning and optical microscopic investigations.The structural changes caused by treatments can be analyzed as a function of applied laser parameters.A mathematical model was developed in order to predict the local melting of specimen surface depending on the parameters of laser surface treatment.
