To develop a new daylight system for a transportable museum pavilion mathematical model calculations are executed and experiments, in a daylight chamber and with a sun simulator, have been done in order to choose the best position and dimensions of the light entrance. The result is a system of three perforated layers in the roof, eventually with a velum underneath. The layers of the system can move horizontally and vertically. The system separates direct sunlight and diffuse daylight and in that manner controls them separately. The system is not only useful in a museum, but in every place were daylight is preferred, but control is desirable or necessary.
