ON ICE BLOCKAGE OF VENT TUBES IN THE WING FUEL TANKS OF THE EPSILON AIRCRAFT

A preliminary analysis of the problem of icernblockage of vent tubes in the wing fuel tanks ofrnthe Epsilon aircraft has been carried out. Thisrnincluded wind tunnel experiments andrnnumerical simulations of air flow and dropletrntrajectories. A number of scenarios has beenrnconsidered and its consequences analyzed.rnSubsequently, recommendations for future workrnand a possible modification of the vent systemrnhave been made.
