Every time you turn around, your customers are trying to save money-often at great cost! That old switchgear is junk, and it's hard for you to keep a straight face when they tell you the factory warranty makes acceptance testing unnecessary. Any person knows you can't maintain an electrical infrastructure unless you create a solid testing plan and follow it. But, try telling them that. It's like they can't hear you. Maybe it's because you don't speak their language. Then again, maybe it's not you. Maybe it's the plant engineer who says, "You are preaching to the choir" when you make your pitch-but can't get his/her management to understand the need to fund sufficient testing. Typically, that is the problem. Most plant engineers and facilities people simply do not understand the process by which companies make budgets.
