摘要

The temperature influence on the long-rod penetration is experimentally investigated in a relatively wide range from 200 K < T < 400 K. Four inert target materials, high-hardness steel, titanium and aluminum alloys and GFRP, have been impacted by two tungsten alloy rods (Φ 4 x 50 mm and Φ8 x 100 mm). The target thicknesses were scaled according to the projectile dimensions. In both calibers all investigated materials show slightly differing decreases of the total penetration with the increasing temperature. In order to simulate the experimental results, the Tate equation has been used. Then, based on these calculations, a dimensionless factor has been introduced that allows an estimation of the temperature influence on the ballistic performances of the materials investigated.
