Fluorocarbon copolymer blends are studied for use as low refractive index cladding materials. The limits of phase separation for these blends were determined using both thermal and optical measurements. This study on optically clear vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer and methyl methacrylate/ethyl acrylate coploymer blends reports UV/VIS spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), dielectric analysis (DEA), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and refractive index data.
